Maker

I love creating things and working with my hands. Here are some of the projects I've taken on over the years, many with my partner Miguel.

Cultivating Plants

I'm outside every day collecting seeds, propagating plants, and tending to seedlings. It's a huge passion and I can't think of any better way to spend my time. The world needs more cultivators. Here's where to find our current plant list.

Tiny House build

This is a labor of love we've been working on bit by bit with as many recycled materials as we can.

Greenhouse build

This is a greenhouse we initially put up to build diversity in our space. We used as many salvaged materials as possible, experimented with growing a variety of plants, and it soon evolved into a thriving backyard plant nursery.

Land Restoration

We've been working to restore life to our compacted clay soil, building food, medicine, habitat, and community along the way. We're a certified wildlife habitat with the National Wildlife Federation and our ecosystem expands more and more each year.

 Herbal Preparations

We make a variety of herbal teas and other preparations. Many of the herbs in our blends are cultivated by us (often from seed), harvested from our garden at the peak of their season, and lovingly processed by hand. Whatever we don't grow ourselves, we source from certified organic suppliers. See our herbal offerings.

Wreaths

I make a limited number of homegrown wreaths each year. This process involves having a relationship with the plants in our garden, trimming them throughout the season in a way that helps them grow and thrive, tucking in magical little bits and pieces as they feel right, then sending them out into the world. Each wreath has its own personality. See more wreaths.

Stained Glass

For my Wildflower School of Botanical Medicine project, I turned some of my herb photographs into stained glass panels. This plant is chickweed, which is weedy medicinal plant that grows wild all over my backyard. A macro lens is a good way to appreciate all the little details because the flowers are so tiny.

Nature Photography

I can often be found crawling around taking macro photos of the plants and creatures we share our space with.

Cooking

I love creating interesting meals that incorporate our farm fresh food. It's incredibly rewarding to gather baskets of plants from the garden and turn them into something tasty and magical.
